Russ!!!!!!!!!! Can you Put my Shoes On? --Am I really to that point!

SO yesterday I decided to wear these spiffy sandals!  I have to admit usually they are pretty hard to put on in my previous non-preg state, but they looked great with my outfit so I had to try.  I think I gave it a couple seconds of thought before I asked my kind husband to put them on.  He did and off I went to work with my cool sandals.  (DID i mention that my SIL gave me a pedi this weekend?-so I have these awesome toes--which just made me want to wear sandals that much more....)

Anyways--towards the end of the day these AWESOME sandals began to cause irritations on my foot.  I was going to meet a good friend for dinner & decided in the parking lot I would take my sandal off & make the strap bigger.  BIG MISTAKE!.... I got it off-(instant relief) and then thought how in the world am I going to strap this on again.  It went through my head--i'm 2 blocks from Russ, maybe I could call him out of his MBA class-state- "Russell-we have a problem".  I realized this probably wasn't the best idea--and after huffing & puffing--I finally realized the solution.  I got out of the car, hoisted my leg on the seat & BAM.  Sandal on.

And yes, for the record, the blister was worth it:)

I passed and my Baby is Not HUGE!

What a great appointment today:)  Let me just list it out:
1.  I passed my Glucose test= I do not have Gestational Diabetes!
2.  I only gained .8 lbs in the last 2 weeks.  I have no idea how this is possible since our Texas trip was not easy on the stomach:)  And this is officially the least amount of weight gained within a 2 week period since Little Rock began growing!
3.  I'm still measuring at 30 weeks, and I'm officially 28 weeks.  Thus, measuring 2 weeks ahead-which is rather normal.  This means no extra ultrasound to verify that our baby is HUGE, while could mean interventions, inductions or C-sections.  All of which I'm hoping to avoid, but COMPLETELY willing to do if necessary.

When my midwife went to listen to Little Rock's heartbeat it cracked me up because Little Rock gave a strong push back.  He/She is going to rock at DEFENSE--just like his/her Mommy.  I just know it.

-And that's my 28 week report:)  Over and out.

Glucose Test or Drug Test?--you Decide

SO there I was talking with Russell about my upcoming Glucose test.... I was recounting my discussion with Katie a couple days ago.
Megan: Katie & I were talking about the glucose test & what you are & aren't supposed to eat the day of test.  Then this lady interrupted us and told us another trick--don't drink milk the night before or the day of the test.  Good to know we replied.  Katie then was telling me some other things to not eat in order to pass.
Russell: Geez Meg-you guys act like this is a drug test or something.  What can you do to avoid testing positive:)!!

I suppose it did sound like the preggs were conspiring on how to not test Positive for this drug we call Gestational Diabetes--which in the end is something that is not really our fault:)  But just like my friend Katie said, "I don't like failing anything."  My parents can relay numerous stories of me crying due to receiving a failing grade of a B+.

Thursday-I'm hoping for Passing this Drug test-I mean Glucose test.  Bring on the jelly beans!

I'm Not Scared. Shake What your Baby Gave Ya'!

So I'm all about working the preggo belly-so to speak:)  So here it is!  I can't wait to do some preggo pics with a couple of our favorite photographers--John & Kit!  It is interesting how there seems to be two camps regarding the Preggo Belly.  There is the camp that things it is sexy, beautiful, amazing, & awesome.  There is the other camp that kind of gets freaks out by it.  I love that my husband happens to be in the first camp:)  I think it is quite amazing myself....!  The idea that I have 3 more months of growth definitely does freak me out a bit--talk about elasticity.
Fun weird dream---to my fellow preggs & those who have contact with preggs--You may have received the honor or listening to a wild & crazy dream that the Pregg had the night before.  My dream last night was that my little one was in my tummy & had ridiculously long fingernails.  Due to the length they protruded through by belly button.  I told Russ that we needed to clip the little one's nails because it was quite irritating to have the nails come through by navel.  We clipped the nails & what do you know--the nails receded back into my tummy.  Bizarre!

I have lost the "WHOAH that's crazy" factor with Russ because EVERY morning I have one of these that seems to be just as bizarre as the dream the night before.  Heh!  "But really Russ this one is crazy!........... "

26 Week Appointment!

Hello All:)

I just got back from my 26 week appointment!  It appears that my growth still continues to be amazing (and accelerated)....I'm measuring 30 weeks-so again 4 weeks ahead of schedule.  My midwife stated that we will do the Gestational Diabetes check in 2 weeks..if that is something that I have I will go for an ultrasound.  The ultrasound will verify the growth of the baby-I guess?...  If I don't have Gestational Diabetes then if I'm still measuring ahead by this much I might have another ultrasound just to see how big the baby really is....

I know this can be super normal, but I can't help be a little apprehensive about it all.  I've told myself that I need to work on releasing any fears/apprehensions to the Universe.  She is good and understanding, and ultimately has been a fine protector of me and Little Rock thus far.

The baby's heartbeat is hanging out around 140---and he/she wasn't a fan of the Doppler instrument trying to cramp his/her space.  Or maybe it was he/she thought it was a soccer ball and he/she is working on his/her kicks!:)  Gender neutral language can be tough....

We head down to Texas tomorrow!  I'm super excited to see all of my family...I have to say I'm a little nervous about the long drive--being that we leave on Friday afternoon and come back on Monday afternoon.  But I plan to eat great food & hangout with the family--nothing too crazy!  I also hope that Russell can find some peace because he has been super busy and stressed, and HE really really needs a vacation.  So hopefully he can find that even for a few hours down in Tejas!

Alrighty--take care Family & Friends!  Love to all:)

The Nursery is Officially PainTed!:)

Please forgive me if I don't make much sense right now....It's been such a great & crazy weekend.  I'm pretty much spent;0)  It's one of those thing--if I don't sit down I'm fine.  Well, I'm sitting down!'

On Thursday, Russell & I decided to get the room primed & ready for the weekend.  My awesome MIL (mother-in-law) had graciously accepted our offer to come up & help us paint the nursery.  See...we are headed down to Texas this Friday to see our awesome family down there, and also get our wonderful crib.  I know it sounds crazy, going to Texas to get a crib.  This crib was the crib my nephew & niece used, and now will be Little Rock's crib.  And it will continue to get passed down, so there is plenty of sentimental value-not to mention it is beautiful!

Anyways--painting!...Yes so here is Russell priming the Purple Walls:)

And then after working Saturday afternoon with MIL & Russell, & then some more on Sunday-the nursery was complete!   Here is the a before-and-after picture of the Purple Wall-that-is-no-More-Purple.

Below you can see the valence (window covering:) that is from the crib theme set that we are going with for the nursery.  Also, you can see the top of the AMAZING chair that we purchased TODAY that goes perfectly with the colors!

And lastly, a picture that best shows the nursery so far.  I'm completely stoked with how it all turned out.  I'm not a big mural kind of person...but I did want to do some fun artsy things.  I think the colors look awesome, the grass turned out perfect, and this chair is pretty much the comfiest thing ever (thanks John!)!!!!

Ahhhhhhhh............Welcome to Our Little Rock's Nursery!

Hiccups--Drinking too Much, Eh?

Ahhhh, I'm fairly certain the little one has its first round of hiccups. Or should I say the first round that I actually felt!  So cool!  Drinking too much in the morning will get ya every time:)  LOVE it!

Oh & as you may have seen on facebook we have officially banished the dogs from the bed.  Our creative parenting allowed us to come up with the idea to move a couch into our bedroom.  It's a tight squeeze, but this way we don't feel too guilty about the dogs laying on something other than our King size pillow-top mattress! AND we get to stretch and KICK:)
