Our little man is such a sweet, easy-going little dude! Just recently we decided that we would like to actually use our crib for something other than clothes, toys, and blankets. Like perhaps...I don't know...maybe to hold a sleeping kid! WHAT! I know. Hold the phone. That is what cribs are for...? Really?
I kid, I kid. But not really. We tried with Aylen, and I know some people might say we didn't try hard enough. But whatever. Who cares. To each their own. I was constantly asking people..how does your kid go down? Just ask the Merlers. I was seriously perplexed at how a child could go to sleep in a crib without screaming their pretty little heads off forEveR. With work..Megan..said Mandy. I swear we tried with Aylen.
Anyways, being all brave and whatnot...I have put Ryker in his crib to start the evening. And usually let him stay in there until 130ish. And the kid started the first night by crying/screaming for 3 minutes and then he passed out. The second night he screamed for 4 minutes. It was seriously amazing. I HAVE NEVER, EVER witnessed anything like that from his brother. It was all out screaming/coughing/choking for 1+ hours before my Momma head could not take it or it was GOING to explode. Ryker lasts now about 3 hours tops in there before he gets hungry. And last night, I have to tell you I missed him cuddled up right next to me. It's crazy that he is growing up so darn fast. It's so often that I have moments that I feel like I can't survive in this infant time, but it's amazing how fast it's going. So right now I like this split time of the crib and the family bed. It's working for us, and it is seriously beautiful and amazing to see this child fall asleep in the crib.
Love,
Momma
