AJ-isms

Time for some AJ-isms brought to you by Momma.
AJ: Mom where did that Mole come from?
Me: I don't know, I was born with him.
AJ:  It came from the Mole Man.  Where's my Mole?

Mom: What do you want to be for Halloweeen?
AJ: A teenage mutant ninja turtle scuba diver.

With the days getting shorter-night falling faster and the dark hanging around longer in the am.
Mom: AJ it's time to wake up!
AJ: Mom, it's still night. Not time to get up yet!

Mom: AJ so this week it's going to snow.
AJ: (eyes get bign smiles forms!) That mean the baby's coming!!!!!
Mom: Well, actually it's snowing a bit earlier than we thought.
AJ: oh.:(

9/8/7 and

Running a little behind with this post...but Russ and I celebrated our 6th year of Marriage earlier this month.  crazy how time flies.  Engagement, Wedding, Babies and more Babies, moves, jobs, animals, cars, trips, hikes...  I'm not quite sure how much more we could have fit in.  When I started thinking about the significance of 6 years, I thought about when we first started dated.  I realized that we had begun our courtship in 2003.  10 whole years we've been together.  Instantly that number took over.  A decade long of togetherness.  Pretty impressive.  We had met at a friend in common's place during a party.  I had left stating to my friend, "if that guy asks, give him my phone number".  The details are a bit fuzzy as to who asked who first after I had left for either my number or his number.  Either way, Russ left with my number.  AND he called.  I was on East Campus and I had come out of my class and there was a voicemail.  Lo and behold a deep, charming voice saying, "Hey I just got back from overseas and we should hangout."  A. His voice was great, B. He had just been overseas and so had I. Hawt.  C.  I was ready to have a date, it had been awhile.

And who would have thunk 10 years later, we are a family of 4-about to be 5, living in the Mountains and ever so happy.  Russ is for sure my rock and I tried hard to think what I could get him for our anniversary.  We have/had a lot of expenses coming up so I thought I'd make him something.  Focusing on 10, 10 years of us...I made this frame with a picture from each year.  What I learned...
1.  We don't take enough us pictures nowadays.  There is always a kid in them, which is cool.  That's our family, but we are also a couple and I want to not forget that.
2.  We seriously keep getting more good looking.  LOL.  Self-absorbed, maybe.  But Russ is really good looking:)  And considering all this lack of sleep the last few years, I'm still doing pretty darn good:)
3.  I love us.

Happy 10+6 Russell!

You'll shoot your eye out!

Oh Ryker boy.  You are so sweet, fun, devilish, and full of personality!

Observe:  how to shoot people with an empty squirt gun...

Note to self: teach these boys how to shoot a real gun, effectively and safely.

Also fun memes of late noteworthy:

the Wedding!

My littlest big brother tied the knot this past weekend.  It's been a long time coming, and goodness it was so great to see him.  He's so happy!!  His wifey is extremely organized and ran everything on time this past weekend. Such a good pair those two!

Not only did my brother get married, but my immediate family was finally reunited after 3 YEARS!  We each have seen each other separately at various points, but seriously we haven't been together for A LONG TIME!!

It was so great to see my boys play with their cousins.  They see each other 1x year usually, which is clearly not enough.  But yet they bond so quickly when they are with each other.

the wedding was an Irish/Scottish kilt wedding.  AND me oh my it was so fun to see my loved ones rocking their kilts.  My brothers and Dad looked so great, and Russ-well it's just so great that he is my husband.  The man is just Hot.

AJ matched the guys and seriously while he got dressed (which let me tell you was quite the process) he DID so great.  He was patient, and excited, and just so willing to put on this outfit!  As I watched him be a part of the festivities as the kilt pin bearer, I had this instant crying/gut pulling feeling.  I was trying to search for a time before when I had felt this way, and instantly remembered.  It was when AJ went to the dentist.  I know that it sounds so funny, but seriously to see my biggest little being so big and BRAVE, it honestly took my breath away.  This little guy that seriously can DRIVE ME BATTY, is getting bigger no doubt about it.

The reception was great and there was dancing, despite us all being so severely tired from the craziness of the past few days.  This was one of the first weddings where we experienced "Weddings with Children".  Quite a different experience of the good ol' wedding time.  But at the same time, so super exciting to get to dance with them and watch them run around like crazy!

After we headed home, all exhausted,we CRASHED.  All of us.  Ryker didn't even make it out of his kilt-which has to be a good luck sign.

That next morning we headed onto Russell's Grandma's 90th Birthday.  Another day of more family, running around with cousins, food, and complete exhaustion.  But seriously, it is great.  We have a great family, and are just very lucky!

Love,
Momma

Enjoying Colorado

ECK!

I hate falling behind with the blog.  I can't remember what I've posted on, I've already lost some memories, and the longer I delay the harder it is to get back in the swing of it.  I've noticed that with my fellow blogger friends.  Some of them have blogs that completely vanished into the dust after kids, others post randomly, and then there is 1 or 2 that seem to be going strong.

Oh well, in the end I'd like to stay I did spend time "enjoying" life rather than just recording it.

We've been busy.  but seriously what is new.  The neighbor found us yesterday and said how she can't believe how much we either have a TON of cars over here OR no one is home.  lordy isn't that true.  This weekend we have been nesting like crazy.  Trying to finish projects, enjoying being at home, and well nesting.

Prior to this past weekend, we had the chance to get out and explore Colorado.  It is insanely amazing here.  Here are some recent weekends and nature at it's finest.

These photos are insane.  This was in Lyons.  2 weeks before this area was JUST WASHED away by record level floods.

These photos were from the Scottish-Irish Festival in Estes Park.  This is a tradition now for us (3rd year going).  It falls right around our anniversary, and seriously it is the most amazing thing ever!  The boys have gone every single year, and honestly have done great!!  This year they both got to rock out with their kilts (courtesy de Grandma).  Such a great time and we had so many friends around us to enjoy our time!!

This was a fun hike that we have been on before near Estes Park.  Another crazy place that is now probably covered in water.  The boys did a really great job hiking, Sampson was along with us, and me and my 31 week old baby belly did too!

It's been crazy to be in Colorado with all these flash floods that occurred.  I have never experienced 5 days off from school because of rain.  We were so darn lucky and stayed completely dry.  It is crazy just to think a few miles from us people were losing their homes.

Crazy.  Anyways, there's a little taste of some time that we actually allowed ourselves to take a break from house projects, scheduled hangouts, etc and enjoy this awesomeness.

Hungry-food-Nowwwww

At dinner time Ryker boy gets so impatient. The other night he set a record of handing me 4 plates while I was still
Cooking dinner. It's so cute and so ridiculous all at the same time!!!

I suppose when you're hungry you're hungry-of all people to understand this a pregnant momma should;)

Love you Ryker man,
