How we do....

Salad time baby!!!
Ever since I went on my paleo-ish diet the first few weeks of Dempsey's life I found my love of salads again. I've continued to eat salads 4-5x per week for lunch. I found this concept of the Mason Jar salad on Pinterest-tried it and liked it! Seriously the salad keeps all week long! And packing your lunch is uber easy, just grab a jar, shake it up when ready, and eat with a fork!

I've managed to continue this ever since I went back to work! And now Russell is joining in:)

Yummm!

And she's rolling!!!

Wow. Dempsey girl at least a month ahead of her brothers.

Not surprised.

Russ calls her toothless:)
:)

AJ-isms

Well AJ got his first ear infection ever a week ago. And he was prescribed his first ever round of antibiotics. Yesterday a rash started and then today he looked like this...
Poor Dude! It was confirmed by the doctor that he's indeed allergic to amoxicillin-just like his Daddy!

Tonight when I put him to bed he told me the following:
"Mom-let's take that white medicine back to the medicine people and tell them this. Hi medicine people, I drank a lot of that white medicine. Now I have a rash!"

When I put some cream on him he said it hurt. I asked if it was stinging him, and he said "yes-it stings like a jellyfish!"

:)
Love it!

First soccer practice

Oh my!!! We were excited!!! So excited!!!! I think everyone at my school knew AJ had soccer practice last night!!
AJ did really great! He had no problem listening to Coach Nicole.  We saw him chat and giggle with a few new friends/teammates. We met some new parents:)

AJ definitely didn't always get the concept that you can't touch the ball with your hands, and some of the drills didn't make sense. When it was scrimmage time, AJ got it kinda:) His defense was nonexistent, and his offense-well I did see him attack the goal one time.  Afterwards as we headed to the dinner of his choice, AJ said, "I want to have dinner with my friends."  Aka teammates. And there you have it folks, the statement that made me know that soccer is worth it!!!!

One thing I read in the rule book which I will do my hardest to abide by-"let the coach coach!"  It was hard when AJ was doing drills completely wrong to not holler at him some commands-in fact a couple times I did. But I am not the coach!!! I am his parent who is there to watch him play, learn, experience a sport. I'm there to cheer him on for having FuN!!!!

Interesting.

This celebration was awhile ago-but I just read these stats! Fascinating.
You might not be able to read this..but one interesting one on there says "if both parents are left handed their offspring has a 50% of being left handed."

Well Russ and I are left-handers and so far both boys are righties.
C'mon Dempsey!!!!! Keep it going!!!

Dempsey.

#3. Oh this girl is sweet.
She and her big toothless grin is priceless. On grandma'a birthday she rolled over for the first time!! Big girl!!!
She had some struggles with the bottle on the first day of work and from the following Monday after the weekend. Poor girl and Grandma.  Luckily we have a VERY loving and patient Grandma-otherwise I might have quit my job.

I love coming home to Dempsey and snuggling and playing with her! She will talk about her Day, practice standing, and just smile!

Sweet girl,
Snow baby.

Ryker.

#2. Crazy, fun-filled boy.  Poor Ryker-man is definitely in the sickness time of his life. A cold, then better, then stomach flu, and currently this darn respiratory crud with a fever:(. Ryk is such a lovely guy that it's always so evident when he is sick. He crys, whines, and walks around like a little zombie.

When Ryker hasn't been sick, he has been talking up a storm. He uses new words all the time. His favorite phrases include, "oh! Dere it is!", "doin Momma/dad/Grandma?", "where AJ/Dad/Mommy/Grandma go?"  His use of inflection is textbook. The guy is good.  He cracks us up constantly and what I love is that he gets AJ laughing hard too. The other night Ryker spun in circles with his balloon-he was going so fast and was laughing so hard he about gave himself hiccups.

To show is crazy nature-a week ago we all were upstairs. Ryk decided to go down the stairs and I figured it was to see Grandma, as he does this a lot. When I went downstairs, he clearly wasn't with grandma. I could hear pounding and located Ryker standing on top of a TALL stool downstairs hammering something. I said, "Ryker what are you doing??? that isn't safe!!"  Ryker said, "Mom-I'm tall and hammering." Lord help us .

I can't wait for Spring to see this guy feel better. He will no doubt keep us on our toes.

Love this 29.

Aylen.

#1.  Indeed. Lately he has shown us a more opinionated side lately, which has been fun?!? He's got lots of ideas... A common phrase we hear is "Mom/Dad how bout this...we (insert some idea about how we should have some toy do something)."  AJ has also enjoyed the phrases "you're a meanie", "Mom/Dad will never listen to me" and "Never"!!!

For the most part he is a level-headed, rational guy. He's the guy that watched a 50 minute magic show quietly and intently. He's the guy that runs the second Dempsey makes a noise to check on her.  And the kid remembers so many things now. We went out for Grandma's birthday and he was able to recall going to this place one year ago. Insane.

Sweet monkey-dog.
