The Best Family.

There has been moments lately where I just have to pinch myself...I'm just so lucky.  SO Lucky!  Here are some examples lately:
1.  Was finally able to run in the Girls on the Run 5k event with my girls team and Della.  It was chilly, but so inspiring to run with this girl who completed her first 5k EVER!
2.  These kids just love each other.  This view one morning completely choked me up.  All 3 of our children, entangled in themselves.

3.  Russell John and kids have really stepped up the gift giving in an entirely awesome way.  This year for my birthday and for Mothers Day, I got legit homemade gifts.  This might be the first year that Russell enlisted the children to pre-think and create gifts for me.  To me this is a sign that we are finally through the Baby Brain Can't Plan phase.  It was so special to me to see these gifts, and see how proud everyone was to give them to me!
4.  Grandma and Grandpa moved to Colorado!  For the past 10 years, these awesome grandparents have been in  New Jersey.  Although sometimes it didn't feel that way because they have made GREAT efforts to get here for big events.  But now they are HERE!  45 minutes away from us!  Already they have helped out so much!  Date night, grouting, taking AJ to school, picking up the kids, painting!  I feel so lucky

In a Galaxy Far, Far Away....

 A few weeks ago we got away and visited this awesome museum.  They were having a special Star Wars Day.  It was quite a drive, but we broke it up by a stop at Krispy Kreme Donuts (ermagerd.love donuts!) We had a blast!  Actual planes in a winger, with Star Wars characters EVERYWHERE.  Even the band was dressed as the characters!  AJ, Ryk and Demps did not want to take any pictures with Luke or Darth or Kylo.  That's ok.  We had a great time sauntering around and watch the whole thing!

Gardening

Yesterday Meg was getting her tattoo finished.  So we decided to plant our garden finally.  Didn't do our seedlings, but we did plant all the stuff we got from our good friend Kellen such as tomatoes and jalapeños.  Also garlic, potatoes, asparagus.  The kids tried helping a little, but it grew too boring for them pretty quick!  So they went and bugged Pat and Brad by saying 'hi' a thousand times while they were out enjoying Pat's new patio.

We love our Meg/Momma in this house.  And we've been creative this year for her birthday and Mother's Day!

Easter Time!

I got to catch up on these posts! The end of the school year is hectic. But especially lately with our house project, life feels crazy! Here are some pictures from our framily Easter egg hunt. The Merlers are amazing people who have the best brunches!!! It's funny, I was a bit conflicted about celebrating Easter. When I really think about the holiday, I struggle. We aren't necessarily Christians, and I don't love promoting a fake furry creature . However, during school AJ wrote about his favorite holiday. It was Easter! So we carry on!

Dempsey basically got it this year. Next year I have the feeling she will be a force to be reckoned with;)
