Little D
This post is all about little D.
Dempsey. SO CUTE right now! Here are some random things about you:
-You're potty training, kind-of. You show interest every now and then, probably more for the novelty and fun of the whole experience than to actually be doing it. Meg got you some really super-sweet Minnie Mouse underpants as encouragement, and you really love those! You came running in to my office while I was working when you first got them to show me. You just thrust your tummy and your bum out and jumped around like tigger and grinned and laughed big time. It never lasts long, of course, basically you'll go just once and then forget to go the next time haha.
-You love/hate your brothers... mostly love of course. But sometimes you go on these random acts of violence sprees and just start beating on your older brother Ryker for no reason. Ryker then squeals like a little piggy or screams and whines and cries and tattles and gets SUPER annoying. So we're having to start punishing you now to show you the ways. Not very often of course, but maybe once a week or so. Basically sit you in time-out and boy do you not like that! Cry cry cry.
-Speaking of crying... you have really started to find your voice. I'm not talking about your inside voice either, I'm talking about your scream-as-loud-as-you-can-just-for-fun voice. Whew that is loud.
-Your hair is getting long and we love it. Your bangs are too. So, when we don't have it up in a pony tail, you have to tilt your head back about 30 degrees just to see right in front of you!
-Learning how to ride everything we have that you can: scooters, bikes, etc etc etc. Even the stuff that you are too small to ride yet, you have a zest to do, and I love that.
-The way that you say things like 'Mmm Hmmm'.... actually come out like "uhhhh..hhhh". Instead of 2 syllables, its only 1, but it still go's higher in pitch at the end somehow. Difficult to replicate, totally unique. Hope I never forget it.
-You love love love playing in the water. Just watching you in the kiddie pool tonight, I was impressed just how much fun you could create and have all by yourself. You kept sitting backward (falling really) onto this little inflatable raft thing, and you almost always flew off any which way. Yet you always laughed and laughed and kept doing it over and over.
-Stuffed animals are special to you most of the time (then again, sometimes you don't care about them at all!). Your favorites right now are Wolfy, Panda, little Kissy bear, 'Uhn-corn', and a few different little babies.
-You love your Grammy, a lot. Like most summers, Grammy is here this year, pretty much June - September with a few breaks, and overall we love having her here. Dempsey oftentimes disappears, and then we'll hear her little voice coming from downstairs, talking with Grammy, telling her things or listening about neat things Grammy has to say, or playing all sorts of fun little games with Grammy. This is so sweet.
-Hard to imagine this family life or world without you little Demps. Love you tons. You have a big impact on all of us.

Creative Parenting
Creative parenting when you need to turnover the rental. demps is "painting" (so duh, she doesn't have clothes) and boys are watching a show in the closet.
