Killing it!

We just got AJ's "very difficult" geometry test back today! He aced it! So proud of this guy!

He also is currently working through his public speaking fears. He's at King Soopers selling popcorn, with another scout that has the charisma of a car salesman.  When I arrived 40 minutes into the selling AJ had not opened up, and he barely talked to me. While I was there a sweet grandma convinced him to talk with her. After we left AJ started to open up! Russell is definitely proud! As former shy kids-we have insane empathy and honor for his bravery!

Be still my heart

Rykee agreed to participate in a basketball skills program with a buddy. He completely is in love. Basketball is now his favorite sport. I'm so so so insanely happy. Even if it means doing this on Friday afternoons. I'll gladly start my weekend on the courts, watching my boy work!

Nighttime mumbles

Last night at some point Demps joined us in bed. She mumbled something to me and I didn't think she was awake. She said it again and I asked her to repeat. "I love you Momma."  She went right back to sleep.

Slurp Slurp

This Dempsey girl, so dang cute.  Her favorite sound/expression right now is the 'slurp' sound you make when something sounds yummy.  Or sometimes she still likes to make toot and burp sounds.

BVWHC Fundraiser

Meg is on the board for BVWHC, though her term is nearing it's end.  Even when she is no longer a board member, we will surely continue to attend this annual fundraiser and support this great organization.  Truly a fun event, positive people, positive mission.  

And dang, look at that beautiful wife of mine... right?!

Spontaneous Rockies Game

My friend Shawn offered us their Rockies tickets for a night.  So at the last minute we ran down there for some fun!  A great time of course, and with a unicorn to boot!

      

Fox Trot

The boys did a great job in the annual FoxTrot fundraiser for the school.  A.J. got 6 laps and Ryker got 4.5 I think.

        

Date Night Rain Night!

Date night out.  Meg and I went to Boulder to drop off her scooter for some work and then took the evening.  A great time as always!  And super fun getting caught in the rain!

  

New Bed

Dempsey's newest bed happens to be Sammy's dog bed. To be fair, Sammy never uses it. And to be extra fair Dempsey doesn't seem to sleep in her own bed-so why not try to dog bed'

Free night

Last week I had an unexpected late meeting get cancelled. I called Russell and told him and we immediately said together "what should be do? Where should we go?"  It seemed like it would be unfortunate to not use this extra time, and do/go somewhere different and fun! Before Russell arrived home, I realized that we had done something every single night that week and perhaps just having a good ole fashion night at home might be good.

It ended up being a good choice! Ryk and I created and completed a fun artistic gift, Demps got to do her favorite thing-cutting homework, AJ and Russell did business things-like developing a business plan for selling cub scout popcorn.

It was a great reminder that going slow it also good!

We used that as our guide for our date night this past week. It was one of the first times in awhile that I actually chilled out and didn't feel the need to do something extraordinary. Instead I just chilled with my Russell and it was wonderful!;)
