Fishing Emoji

A few years ago Russell introduced us to his favorite past-time as a child, fishing. I’ve been determined to take the kids out multiple times, even bringing our friends with us. This means that I’ve had to get over worming the line. And the worst part, splitting up the worm to make our bait last longer. I can now handle it like a boss, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have squeals and say “thank you” to the worm every single time;)

I’m so amazed that our kids still want to go fishing even though we have not had even a nibble so far this summer. I decided to take the kids to one of our first fishing spots, Izak Walton Pond. It’s a great little pond, and it is only for kids which is pretty ideal. Our friends the Mancusi came over to fish too!

Boy did we break our no fishing spell!
22 fish!!! AJ caught 14 of them! Of course they were all little blue gill, but it didn’t even matter because it was that exciting! And talk about trial by fire for getting fish off the line! I took all 22 off! Not had for a person that only fished once in her life as a kid!

So we are hooked even more now!!!

Next step is catching big ones and then learning how to cook them!

Moming Hard

So you know when you’ve had a few days where the kids just get on your nerves. They can’t seem to get along, and if they are left alone within minutes something has occurred that is not mom-approved. That’s been the past two days. So there I was sunning myself after I got back from the pool-seems like the sun decided to hide until right after we left.  Anyways-there I am sunning myself, and pretending the water play park is the beach, and my water is a pina colada. *****Screamingggggggg***** Instantly i’m awakened from my day dream to find this:
This is Dempsey, zipped in a bag, her hair caught and screaming bloody murder. The boys are running around trying to find me (@ the beach-duh). Dempsey lost a few strands of hairs that I cut off, to which she started freaking out and crying “my hair is all gone.” I had to carry her to the mirror to show her she still had hair.

Ermagerd.
