The Waning Days of Summer
Summer has been trickling away slowly, and we've been doing all sorts of fun things. Man, it has been another record setting hot summer (not good records). Also, school has started up for both Meg and the kids. This year all school staff are working in the schools, yet all classes on online via Webex through the end of October. Pretty much everybody thinks this online start to the year may be extended further as well. By a stroke of good luck, I had purchased noise canceling bluetooth headphones for the kids for Christmas on a deal, and we decided to turn them into back-to-school presents along with styluses (styli?). This has worked out WELL; though most school days are eerily quiet now haha. Also, we are truly grateful for all of the support we have with our grandparents who live so close and are all willing to help out while I work from home during the days. After the first week (first day?), the kids adapted well to the new model, as well as they can anyhow. We are so proud of our smart kids, they can handle everything that they are challenged with. As I told somebody the other day, parent/teacher conferences are like our family's super bowl: the source of so much pride about these kids!
Other things we've been up to: disc golfing, paddleboarding, hanging out in cool mountain rivers, training Kevin, and after isolating for so long now (more or less) we are encouraging the kids to hang out with 1 friend per week. Gotta remember how to be a friend! Oh and flag football for the boys and soccer for Dempsey is all starting up. Going to be a busy couple of months!
These ones at the end are of a hike I went on yesterday up to Isabelle Glacier with my friend Joe. Twas beautiful!
