Today I had the chance to pick up the kids from school! Once in the car, Dempsey asked AJ to hand her the car seat. AJ did, and Dempsey responded with “You’re a good man AJ.”

That’s right Demps, you keep learning about “good men”.

A woman VP. A president that said “united” so many times, I lost count. Women. People of color. Inclusivity. Best of all my Dempsey asking me today, “So Mom, I could be the next president?”

Turning A Corner

These two have had more moments of getting along than not lately.  Here they are using my phone to do slo-mo jumping on a box. It’s the best when they giggle. The best. 

They also have had moments where they will say something in not the best way, and then change it to be a nicer tone. It is super fun to see it happen!

Basement Project #2 has begun-and we are excited!

The Last Night of 2020

Well the kids pleaded with us to let them stay up til midnight for NYE.  Why not, we said;) So we did it.  I was surprised at how easy it was, even though I haven’t stayed up til midnight in I can’t remember how long!! We played video games, watched movies and even had some time for reflection. Russ encouraged us to write down things we were grateful for, what we wanted to leave behind, etc.  The kids all participated. AJ even created a pro/con list, which clearly made both Russell and my heart swell with pride! AJ made the comment that this past year didn’t have “too many bad things, it’s just the bad things had such an impact.”

I don’t think I could have explained it any better! We took our writings and ceremonially threw them into the fire:) It was a really nice night!
