He is officially moving on to middle school.
A couple things about him…
• He read 6,682 minutes this past year. And that isn’t even close to how much he really read. The closest kid to him read 3,000 minutes.
•He participated in the tradition 5g market day where he created items to sell to the fellow 5th graders. Both Market Days he bought items for me…..how sweet is that?
•He gave baseball a chance again after having a rough season last year. He’s loved it! He actually has now pitched a couple of times and has been catcher once. It truly was the best thing ever that happened with that. He showed up for the game and was told “AJ you are pitching 1st and 3rd inning and catching 4th.” After he quietly freaked out, he said,” ok.” He did wonderfully! Afterwards he said “I’d do it again.” He never ever got those opportunities last year! A couple weeks ago he got to experience baseball in all its glory with a complete rainstorm. They got soaked…and it was 55 degrees out. It was…um….rough. But he did it and enjoyed that hot shower afterwards.
•AJ also was in the District Art Show this year and got recognized with a silver distinction.
• We had AJ’s continuation via webex. We are so close to being more normal…but not yet. Online was great as it could be!
• The last day of school we invited AJ’s friends over to hangout and just celebrate. Two of his buddies are headed to a different middle school. They ended up having such a great time and it turned into a sleepover.
This boy is a strong leader, he will always fall on the sword for anyone (working on this with him), he loves reading, he is insanely helpful, he needs his alone time, he feels hard, he’s a great listener, he takes after his father in SO many ways, he asks questions-lots of them, his brain has a hard time shutting off at night, and he just has the best laugh which is amazing because he tends to be so serious.
Onto middle school tall one. Proud of you.
Love you,
Mom
