an update on these littles.

oh haiiiiiiii.... WOW.  I can tell I'm back to work.  I had to go back through my posts and try to remember what the heck has even happened!  I thought it would be good to do a quick check in about these littles because they are just getting bigger and bigger everyday.

Aylen John:  Oh sweet, smart, rule-following AJ.  Last week we setup the soccer goal and cones in the backyard.  AJ had this whole plan of how he wanted us to "play" soccer, and Russ decided to deviate from AJ's plan.  It put AJ into a tailspin that involved tears, yelling, and INTENSE frustration.  Poor AJ was so upset that Russ was not following the RULES.  Russ looked at me and immediately "that's your kid".  I could totally relate to AJ and his desire to follow the rules.  I was that way for a LONG time, but luckily have loosened up a bit.  Mostly due to Russell, and having 3 kids, and living a bit more:)  AJ is in general my go-to guy.  He listens, he helps, and for the most part is in a great mood.  He loves to help me carry milk containers into daycare.  He loves to organize his toys into categories.  He loves to "wake up slow".  AND he really loves candy, ice cream, and any sugar-laced beverage.  He started soccer for the Spring and it's been interesting.  He is listens to the coach, enjoys his teammates immensely, but as for playing soccer...well he could take it or leave it.  I'll save that for another post.

Ryker Lee:  Our puzzle KING.  Since we moved to the new house, and setup a puzzle table this guy has been in love.  We actually started him with a 100 piece puzzle from his Granny Barb, and anytime we introduce one of those ya know easy 8 piece wooden puzzles he's not too interested.  THE GUY loves the harder ones.  He will seriously sit there for an hour PLUS and working on these two puzzles we have.  Ryk also loves to connect with friends that come over by grabbing them immediately and saying, "Wanna work on a puzzle?"  It's so sweet and so amazing to me that this guy has this much patience.  Ryk is just coming along so great with his verbal skills.  People who haven't hung out with him in the past few months can instantly tell how different his skills are even from this summer.  I love how much he still has this younger guy's voice, but is now starting to use BIG words.  It almost makes me sad realizing how much of toddler this guy is now.  He still insists that Russ or I "sit with me a wittle bit" in the evenings.  When I sit with him he will ask me to "Sing ABCS momma".  Once I get to "Z" he always says "now I'll sing".  He'll repeat the alphabet and then finish with "now Ryker said his ABCs next time won't you sing with me."  So cute.

Dempsey Snow:  We recently met our new friend's baby, who weighing in at 8lbs 10oz is a relatively big baby.  BUT dang...compared to Dempsey.  Dempsey's JUST huge.  10 months.  It is going so fast all of the sudden.  Dempsey is a lightening bolt when crawling now.  We love to watch her go, because she will just slap her hands to the ground as quickly as possible.  She occasionally stands, but hasn't experimented with steps yet.  Everyone that meets Dempsey always comments on her fun-loving demeanor.  She is just so smiley and up for anything.  She recently started playing peek-a-boo with clothing/blankets.  She will pull it up by her head and then drop it, giggle, and do it again.  Squeeze.  She's just too cute.  Also, Dempsey has officially passed into the PLAY in the dishwasher and OPEN and SHUT every door phase.  :)
