Big Day for AJ
He went to kinder roundup today. Huge. Big deal. Oh yea and we got to school by walking out our back gate. Amazing! He did great. He definitely had some nerves but ultimately did fantastic and talked to other kids. Phew.

We work out.
What is this picture you may ask?....I'll tell you. This is what we do when both Russell and I want to work out at 6am. So Russell goes to the Y and cycles, and I head downstairs to run. I essentially facetimed myself so that I could stop Ryk from going in our room and waking Dempsey up. It feels good to workout "together"!

This man.
Honestly, my life is better with Russell
In it. The past couple years have been a roller coaster: moving, job changing, kid adding, new houses, new responsibilities, etc. For me the past year has been one of huge changes. I switched into new schools with a new(ish) job, began a role as a board member, met some new friends and did some new extra curricular work activities. And that's not including going from a nursing/pumping mom, to now a free as can be Mom.
Russ is constantly telling me it's ok and to go do whatever it is I got to do. Mostly its later meetings, board commitments, girls group at school and the occasional girl time fun. He always says the pendulum swings. I suppose he is right. I have lived the last 4 years being physically attached to a little being (mostly due to breastfeeding). It's funny how now that I actually have commitments I feel burdened by this.
Either way, I just feel so thankful for having Russell. He has grown so much and become a kickass husband and Dad. I can depend on him and he has allowed me to grow as a woman, a friend, a social worker and a community member. It won't always be this crazy...but damn. Big ups to Russell. My love. My rock.

What Was Reaffirmed for me on Spring Break (and some new things I learned)
1. Grandparents Rule. Della and I discussed tattoos and had some nice cuddle time. It's funny how I missed cuddling with my parent(s). I spend so much time cuddling my littles and Russell. It was nice. Real nice.
2. Russell is a great father. He has decided to take on a garden with the kids. I have only been minimally involved. This picture captures a discussion that he had with the kids on how to plant, why planting is cool, and what will happen with these seeds.
3. Dempsey really hates ponies. How the heck do people do ponies in their kids' hair.
Wow.
4. Russell and I really have fun together. We went to a Rockies game by ourselves. We had a great day of enjoying food, checking out our future cars, checking things off our to-do list, and just being cute like the good ol' days:) It was fun to go and be goofy:)
5. Batman is a great brother. At the park this past week he really took on care-taking of DSnow. He lifted her up and down, and over to there, and back here. He took her up steps, down the slide, and around the curb. And when he picks her up, she doesn't get worried. She just grabs on and lets him take her wherever they need to go.6. More words are coming out of DSnow. On the swing she has perfected her "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee". Cutest things ever. She also says: Hi Dad, Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, juice, wee, bye, dog.
7. The kids and I hung out with a family that we haven't seen in awhile, a new family to us, and our standard framily. It makes me feel super thankful that we are starting to meet alot of different families in Longmont and surrounding places. It is just so important to my/our survival to have a tribe both big and small.
There are more things that I learned, but I also learned that I'm not immune to everything. Last night I started to get this horrible cold that the kids had for the past couple weeks. My ears hurt, my throat hurts, and I'm tired. Just when I started to get cocky. I am not worthy.
But for real. I'm so thankful for Spring Break. It was such a great time away and break from the grind.

Breakin It
More to come on the earlier part of Spring Break. But so far this am Ryker went potty in the toilet all by himself, Dempsey climbed down the stairs to join us for breakfast, and AJ can prepare his cereal breakfast all by himself. Things are definitely getting easier. I know I don't/won't feel like this always but I just completely love my schedule and getting chunks of time with these kids!
High5 for independence!
