Hiding.

"Im hiding underneath the office desk right now hiding from my kids."  -Me last Thursday on the last day of break.  I had high hopes for the day.  IT'S GOING TO BE AWESOME.  We will do so many cool things.  I will be totally present.  It's funny how I felt this need to make the last day such a great time.  Instead I was horribly tired due to some crappy sleep, and the kids knew that they need to up their cranky game.  I pretty much spent a greater part of the day trying to hide from them...for serious.  I hid underneath the desk, in my closet, and of course the hiding place of all....the bathroom.

The reality is that whether or not we had an awesome summer wasn't dependent on the last day.  Summer was great this year.  I had a goal of staying put in Colorado, unlike previous years that felt like all we did was travel.  Though we did take some trips, and Russell felt like we were gone quite a bit-we did have good home time.  I was really able to hangout with lots of different friends.  We had lots of playdates and enjoyed our home too.  Grammy was with us most of the summer so we also enjoyed having her around.  I got away on several overnights-date nights with Russell, backpacking with girlfriends, backpacking with Russell, work retreat, etc.   A freedom that I haven't enjoyed in a looooooooooong time.

So as I head into the school year this year things will be different.  I'm so looking forward to getting into our new routine.  I'm hoping to figure out a way that I can workout from home (save some $$$), also get my own time since I will be picking up/dropping AJ off at kinder most days, date mornings with Russell can hopefully still happen, and figure out how to be at just one school for my work.  Mostly I just want to enjoy everything that is amazing in my life right now.  Because seriously...it is a rocking life.

A quick bit on the #2 and #3 since #1 got his own spot the other day.

#2-29-Rykeeboy-RykerMan-Ryk:  Oh this kid is going through an interesting time.  He has developed this whine from he-ll.  It is ridiculous.  He does good once he can take some breaths.  He has decided to wake up in the middle of the night, thankfully lately he has made it until 530/6am.  He comes and wakes me up and says "I'm scared.  Protect me."  ohyoyoyo.  He loves to randomly tell me, and others, that he loves me/Dad/Grandparents/even the neighbor guy Kevin.  Speaking of Kevin, he loves our neighbors.  He will yell across, "HI BRADWHATAREYOUDOINGBRAD?  HI KEVINWHEREAREYOUGOINGKEVIN."  His vocab is still off the chain, which is so cool.  He loves wrestling.  He hates washing his hands after the bathroom.  He sometimes eats great, and sometimes it's pulling teeth.  He can ride the Strider better than any person I have ever met.  He really likes summer, and doesn't enjoy going back to a different routine.  He loves the indoor pool, not so much the outdoor pool.  He has got personality for sure.
#3-DempsNo, Snowbaby, Demps, SisterGirl, SIster:  Guh.  This picture sums her up.  I mean, I know I've written this before, but this girl rules.  She is so versatile.  Trucks, dolls, pretty sparkly shoes, hiking shoes, hats, trains, dogs.  She feels the beat if it is there.  She loves her Dad.  Like really loves her Dad.  Makes me miss her sometimes, but she eventually comes around to me again.  She has to snuggle with an animal or dolly when she goes to bed.  SHE loves to play "night, night" all day long-which is confusing as to why she cannot remain in her room past midnight most nights.  She loves swinging and saying "weeeee".  We put her on the strider bike for the first time last night and she liked it.  She loves water-especially showers.  She cannot be outside without pouring water on herself or something else, which means her outfit NEVER stays dry. Ever.  She sings.  She loves apples, all the apple.  She doesn't enjoy diaper changes much anymore, which I hope translates into potty training eventually.  She also loves loves talking to her grandparents/anyone really on the ipad.  "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii"  "Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"

Alright.  I've got a good looking husband that is watching a movie, and I just can't resist not cuddling with him anymore...So off to the start of the school year.  Here's to new things, and great things, and awesome people.

Love to you all,
Momma
