Life Lessons

Yesterday AJ puked right when the bell rang. Unfortunately, everyone was still in class and the trash can had already been taken outside the room. So there was AJ, and the carpet, and his classmates. Within seconds I heard from a classmate what happened. Minutes later, AJ found me with his teacher outside of Dempsey’s room. Right when he found me tears welled up in his eyes. I knew that feeling-seeing the mom and losing your sh*t. He was feeling alright but was super embarrassed.

Fast forward to today. I’m laying in bed with all the kids and they are sharing back and forth their own puke stories. They ask for clarification from me on what realllllly happened, and then they laugh. AJ said, “You know-something super embarrassing one day can be very funny the next day.” Mic drop. This kid is so freakin smart.

Today was my 36th birthday and AJ and I chilled at home together. We had naps, played his favorite game that he has waited for months for someone in this family to play with him-Monopoly, and finished off the evening with some fun with my parents.

It was a good day.
