New family mechanism for great success and happiness

That’s right, our family’s new mechanism for great success and happiness and balance and all the things has been officially established:  rotating 1:1 hangout nights with each kid/parent.  And this mechanism works via rotating magnets on the fridge.

Up first was me and Ryker, on a night of opportunity.  We drove the Tesla up Left Hand canyon, found a good spot to park, grabbed our camelbaks, picked a random direction and just started climbing up!  This, exactly, is something I’ve wanted to do since moving out here.  Makin dreams come true!

Ryker was so great.  There was a big boulder in our way, so we just climbed right up and over the thing.  A good climber.  Then as we got higher we reached a decision point: to the top of the ridge or the mountain.  Obvious choice, am I right??  Once we had a concrete goal/target acquired, then Ryker was leading the whole rest of the way.  “Come on Dad!”  About 800 ft vertical climb, pretty good!

We routefound our way down a different way, for the fun.  It was a great random peaceful hike with my favorite number 2 boy.

Then we went to eat some Indian food at our great local place, Ryker’s idea.  Great bonding evening.
